Constructed in 1992, The Oaks at Buckhead is purpose-built (it is NOT a lower-quality apartment conversion) condominium building with approximately 216 units (there are fewer than 200 residences because many of the Tower units were combined to create larger homes) comprised of multi-level townhouse style residences on the courtyard level, and high rise tower homes. When available, there are many layouts from which to choose: home sizes range from +-1,012 to +-3,800 square feet.

For the privacy and security of the building's residents, the front desk is staffed by a full-time attendant, and the property is monitored using video cameras and a closed circuit TV system. All exterior entrances are accessed by a coded card access system including the gated pedestrian entrance located on the Oak Valley Road side of the property. The front desk attendant can also accept deliveries for homeowners, including dry cleaning pick-ups and drop-offs.

Residences in the Oaks at Buckhead have deeded parking space(s) in the secured-entry parking garage beneath the building. The parking garage has visitor parking spaces, and there is an additional gated visitor parking area that is accessible from the Kingsboro Road side of the property.
